About Me

I’m Karyn Ezell, and I’m a certified executive coach, leadership development mentor and facilitator, with expertise in the for-profit, nonprofit and government sectors. I support leaders in personal and professional mastery, leading to more ease, higher levels of energy and greater long-term success and fulfillment.

I have a bachelor's degree in business administration & management, and a master's degree in organizational behavior. I am an ICF Certified Coach with specialist certifications in leadership, well-being, performance and transitions from the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching, and I’m certified in nonprofit board leadership. Prior to my work as a coach, I worked for more than 20 years in corporate human resources, including 12 years at the C-suite level, and my experience and expertise includes strategic planning, communications and organizational operations in both large and small organizations.

We're not supposed to do this alone...

I was raised to be independent and resourceful, leaning into my family’s cultural values of work hard, don’t complain, and don’t talk about your feelings or anything uncomfortable. My core belief about the world was that if you need something, figure it out and get it for yourself. 

This belief stuck with me into adulthood, but only in hindsight did I realize that I put myself at a disadvantage by not seeking advice, guidance and feedback.  Doing it all by myself made everything harder than it needed to be, at every stage of my life.

Tuesday at 2 am

It was just after 2 am on a Tuesday morning, at a regular meeting of our Board of Directors.  It was the norm that I had been at work since 8 am the previous morning….and I would be in the office again in less than seven hours.  I’d been doing this for nine years, and it never occurred to me how unreasonable it was, or how burned out I was.  Burnout is a state of physical, mental and emotional exhaustion caused by chronic stress, often related to work demands, expectations and pressures.
